ABOUT STRICKIES
Strickland & Holt has been a family-run department store since 1854, offering an eclectic mix of beautiful gifts, fashion, homeware, toys, books and stationery. Our cafe is also a local favourite, serving homemade cakes, light lunches and freshly ground Rountons coffee.
Affectionately known as Strickies, you’ll find us in the beautiful Georgian town of Yarm-on-Tees, known for its charming mix of independent shops and restaurants.
OUR HISTORY
Part of Yarm’s story since 1854, we are a family-run business that has continually evolved to meet our customers’ needs. Still proudly independent, we are now owned by John Holt’s great-niece, Stephanie.
We take pride in offering a constantly changing and interesting selection of goods, from gifts and cards for every occasion from pocket-money toys, stylish fashion and perfect gifts, to freshly made coffee, bread, and cakes baked in-store each day.
TIME FOR TEA?
Weave your way past the toys and cards to the gift and fashion departments. The coffee shop is at the back of the shop when you need reviving. We make all our own cakes, meals, and scones on the premises to eat in or takeaway.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING
You’ll find Strickland & Holt right in the heart of Yarm High Street — easy to spot on the right-hand side as you head north. Pop TS15 9AE into your sat nav and you’ll be here in no time.
We also have a large free customer car park to the rear of the store. Simply head down Central Wynd (just to the left of Boots, next door to us), turn right when you reach the river, then right again into the car park.
If you’re parking on the cobbles along the High Street, it’s now pay and display — but you do get your first hour free. Just don’t forget to pick up and display your ticket.
